We claim continuous presence in practice on Drake Street for nearly 90 years. Mike Pickup's father, John, ran C E Garnett & Co until the 1980's when Mike took over the practise which he then merged with that of John Lawson Wild & Co in 1996. John had started his own practise after qualifying in 1969 - also on Drake Street. Both partners had had close ties for many years - especially via cricket and rugby.
Mike's son, Ian D.Pickup, BA (Hons), is following the family tradition and is currently a trainee Chartered Accountant as is John's daughter, Rebecca E.E.H. Wild BA (Hons).
John's second eldest son, James A.L. Wild BSc (Hons), ACA, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2005 and specialises in Corporate Finance and Business Re-structuring.
John was President of the Manchester Society of Chartered Accountants in 2002/03.
